Dubrovnik a Croatia villa holiday attraction, which for many is perhaps the best known of Croatia’s historic ports.
Today Dubrovnik is a beautiful place with superbly restored fortifications and old buildings lining a myriad of narrow streets which are so nice to brows around, it is clear why Dubrovnik is known as the jewel of the Adriatic. Take a short boat trip and you can admire the port even more from the sea.
It is a town with an incredible history, some of it very recent, which you can enjoy discovering on a warm day. A walk along the city walls (to which there are three main entrances) is both enjoyable and enlightening, it costs around 50 HRK to get in by the Pile gate and the full tour is around 2 kilometres.
During the summer months from mid-July to the last week of August there is an annual arts festival held in Dubrovnik. There are also the likes of the Maritime museum, even a cable car ride which gives you another perspective altogether.
Most of our villas on the Croatian mainland are within driving distance of Dubrovnik for a day out. The drive down along the Dalmation coast is a huge pleasure in itself and it’s worth the effort to visit one of the major attractions of Croatia. Our Peljesac peninsula villa is the nearest to Dubrovnik.
