Rome Marathon, Lazio, Italy takes place on the 20th March 2011 and passes many of the eternal cities principal sights.
The seventeenth Rome Marathon or Maratona di Roma 17 as it is properly known has become a major event, embracing the slogan “All roads lead to Rome”. For competitors and spectators alike it is a fabulous experience to see so many runners passing iconic sights such as the Spanish steps, the Coliseum, the place Colonna di Marco Aurelio, Saint Peters Square, Castel Sant Angelo, the Piazza Navona and many more.
This year’s event will include the Kenyan Teimet Sylvester Kimeli who won in Seoul last year and David Kipkorir Mandago winner in Rome in 2006, both with the potential to register times close to 2 hours.
