The World Cup will be held by South Africa from 11 June to 11 July 2010, the first time that an African country has hosted what is undoubtedly the biggest event of them all.
Ten stadium have been chosen in 9 municipalities which includes Johannesburg, Bloemfontain, Cape Town, Durban, Nelspruit, Polokwane, Port Elizabeth, Tshwane and Rustenburg. South Africa is awaiting the arrival of around 3 million visitors for the event and is gearing up with stadium renovation, station construction and new infrastructure facilities.
South Africa has an established tourist trade and many travelers have been enjoying its beautiful beaches and eye-catching safari parks for many years and are already aware that in many ways South Africa is a very forward looking and advanced country well able to host an event like the World Cup.
England have not qualified yet, but they currently lead their qualification group and require only three points from their remaining three games.
