The World Cup returns to Courchevel after 30 year absence and this morning the ladies enjoyed a freeski on the slope.
The last time Courchevel hosted a World Cup event was back in 1979 when the giant slalom was won by Ingemar Stenmark. The Audi FIS Alpine ski World Cup returns to Courchevel on Tuesday 20 December with the women’s slalom.
The course is 500 metres long, starting up at 2,015 metres and descending to 1,824. There is massive interest in the event across the Savoie and apparently Courchevel is heaving giving rise to expectations of a massive attendance. The first race starts at 10.00 and the second at 13.00.
