Sea fishing trip in a trawler? Yes you can on a Guilvinec villa holiday, you can spend the whole day on a full fishing trip sailing out of Guilvinec harbour.
Sail on an actual fishing trawler such as the Kan Atao in the company of seasoned local fishermen like skipper Johan and spend a thrilling day trawling the sea off the Brittany coast for local specialities such as monk fish and languestines.
Its an early start from the quay at Guilvinec for a days sea fishing with the crew of the Kan Alto so you need to be up and kitted in seafaring gear for a four thirty in the morning start, as you will be setting off to the light of the moon.
You will get to visit the trawler, see all the navigational equipment in the cabin, even the kitchen. The crew will look after your needs, but they also have a job to do as this is no boat tour it’s a real live fishing trip and they need to make a living.
Watch as the experienced fisherman cast their trawl nets to a depth of one hundred metres then join the crew in anticipation of hauling in the catch then see how they quickly prepare the fish ready for auction upon their return to port.
It’s a long day and you can expect to be back in port in Guilvinec by around five thirty in the afternoon. While the fish head for auction you can make your way back to your Guilvinec cottage with pool for a dip, then maybe a cool glass of crisp white wine and fresh (you know they are) langoustines for supper.
You must be over twelve years old to join this trip which is limited to a maximum of two passengers. Price is around 45€ per person. For more information and booking view haliotika.com/boutique/embarquement-sur-chalutier or telephone 02 98 58 28 38.
