Located about twenty miles from Aix-en-Provence, Rognes is a very old village, virtually destroyed by an earthquake in 1909 and rebuilt at the foot of the Fossa, a hill from where one can enjoy superb views. If the AOC wine and truffle cultivation are in the spotlight, Rognes is also known for the quality of its stone ochre extracted for twenty centuries and found in beautiful country houses, mansions and the mansions of Aix .

Rognes travel
Travelling to Rognes is fairly easy as there is good motorway access as well a fast train TGV to nearby Aix en Provence. You can fly direct to Marseille airport (MRS) 48km (around 42 minutes drive).

The climate in Rognes is usually warm and sunny. You can enjoy family holidays here from April to October. In the main school holiday months of August and July it can be quite hot which is when the pool at the villa is very useful.
