Isola 2000 resort visit December 2012 was a great opportunity for me to see again just how well appointed our chalets are and the fabulous snow conditions.
There has been an exceptional amount of snow fallen in the French Alps in recent days and I was keen to take a look at the current conditions for myself. I'm also very into snow shoe walking so a sunny Sunday yesterday seemed the perfect opportunity.
It's a long time since I was last in a ski resort before the season started, in fact the last time dates way back to when I was a ski rep in Chamonix. Back then the snow didn't arrive properly until Christmas day.
Yesterday in Isola 2000 the snow conditions were unbelievable, there was a good 80cm of snow in resort and to boost the snow cover on the main slopes even more the snow cannons were blasting away all day long.
Isola 2000 is a purpose built resort, the main body of which is not very attractive but it is very practical so its easy to shop, eat, drink pick up your ski pass and get straight on to the slopes.
However in recent years there have been some really nice chalet hamlets added which add a whole new look to the place and they too have really good access to the slopes and resort centre as well as some nice typical mountain style restaurants and bars.
It is the fourth year for us featuring Isola 2000 in our ski program and we find our clients enjoy the family clientele, the varied fairly extensive skiing, reliable snow conditions (for a non high altitude resort) and the abundant sunshine.
To see more photographs of the fabulous snow conditions at Isola 2000 yesterday see our Isola 2000 facebook album.

It's certainly looking like were in for a good season this winter. Have a good look at our extended French Alps ski chalets collection and in particular our Isola 2000 ski accommodation.
Enjoy your skiing! Peter Horrocks
