Algarve villas

Villas Worldwide propose an outstanding range of private holiday villas in the Algarve Portugal, many have fabulous sea views and in some beachfront houses, you can walk to the sand and sea as well as local restaurants, bars and shops. There are also homes with pools on golf courses so that you can best enjoy a facility for which the area is famous. Another helpful feature is the fact that there are plenty of Algarve private villas with pools that are heated which enables you to use them even in the low season when the weather is still very mild.

For those seeking eastern Algarve rental properties within a taxi ride of Faro airport, our homes in Almancil and Loulé are the best or even Albufeira where we have a number of villas where you don’t need a car once installed. In Carvoeiro, we have a number of top end 5-star luxury Algarve villas with pool and for those who seek peace and quiet further west in Lagos, you will find what you need. Some of our Algarve holiday homes to rent are a little bit inland and they offer particularly good value for families and large groups and quite a few have fenced pools which is a useful security feature.

The Algarve has long been popular for its stunning coast, warm seas and reliable weather. Recent years have seen a vast improvement in facilities such as an excellent main coastal road as well as even better accommodation and leisure facilities, so it’s no surprise that it attracts many wealthy visitors year after year.

Attractions

Located in the southernmost part of Portugal the region has something for all, practically all year round, it has a beautiful coastline with fine sandy beaches, rocky coves and islands. Its facilities are excellent, in particular, the golf courses, marinas and holiday accommodation.

Sports and leisure

There are superb sports facilities including tennis clubs and of course a wide choice of activities including water sports such as sailing, windsurfing and diving. The wonderful climate attracts holidaymakers from all over the world for most months of the year.

Food and drink

The Algarve coast was once just a string of fishing villages and it still retains remnants of the past, so there is lots of fresh fish and delicious seafood available at reasonable prices. Fresh fruit is abundant as there are many orange and lemon groves in the area alongside the numerous olive trees. There are also some local wines from Lagoa and Portimao and a recognised wine circuit, whilst the popular Portuguese Mateus rose is readily available.

Eating out

There are lots of very good restaurants in Algarve, many with superb views of the sea. Here you can indulge in local specialities such as Chicken Piri Piri and Conquilhas which is a delicious clam dish and of course a vast range of fish including sardines, swordfish and monkfish. There is an international variety available with a good choice of Italian, English, Chinese and Indian restaurants.

Shopping

The Algarve is well known for its high-quality shops which are very popular with the professional footballer's wives amongst other celebrities. For everyday self-catering accommodation requirements, there are plenty of supermarkets and grocers.

Travel

The main international airport for flights to the Algarve is Faro (FAO) which is serviced by airlines Easyjet, Jet2, Bmibaby, Ryanair and Aer Lingus. From the airport, it usually takes at most two hours to reach the furthest villa. Most are within an hours drive, we even have a villa in Faro which is ideal for those who would rather not bother with a car.

Weather

The climate in the Algarve is perfect for summer holidays, it is lovely and warm, sunny with little rain, from April to October. The Algarve also attracts winter sun holidaymakers as it remains sunny much of the year though cooler (a villa with heated pool comes in handy).

Beaches

The Algarve has many wonderful beaches with everything from rocky cove bays to wide sandy stretches many carrying Blue Flag certificates. The Algarve coast stretches for around 200 kilometres so you have an amazing choice.
