There is no doubt that le Marche is the emerging region of Italy, often overlooked in preference of its better know neighbour Tuscany this area is becoming increasingly appreciated for its wide sandy beaches and beautiful hinterland. 

Sophisticated seaside towns such as Fano and dramatic hilltop towns and villages including San Leo and Urbino have plenty to offer the discerning visitor.

Regional cuisine encompasses truffles and strong mountain cheeses, delicious hams and salamis, olive ascolne (olives stuffed with meat and herbs) and brodetta which is a type of fish soup. Local wines include the dry white Verdicchio and the increasingly popular Bianchello.

Most of the countryside is a pretty mixture of woods and remote hills, rising in the west to the majestic Monti Sibillini, Ancona and the attractive town of Pesaro are the pivotal points of the coastline.

The le Marche weather is wonderful and suitable for villa with pool holidays from early Easter right through until the end of October.
