This year we changed the Villas Worldwide / Villas du Monde reservations system to accommodate the wishes of both villa and chalet owners to offer varied dates in the low season months outside July and August and simultaneously to satisfy our clients wishes to begin or end their holidays on days other than weekends.
From an owners' point of view, the aim is to rent the property better outside school holiday periods when the demand is lower and value for money is more important. Often there are flights available at very good prices for weekday departures and the same applies for car ferries and hire cars too.
So to be able to take a ten day holiday or even a five-day holiday can have significant advantages from a financial point of view and also from the perspective of optimising the use of bank holidays and fixed annual leave.
There is another aspect which people appreciate too and that is avoiding the traffic jams. It is, unfortunately, one of those things which those who are stuck with fixed departure dates have to put up with, the slow weekend queues of cars heading south which add the anxiety of potentially missing travel departures.
A handful of villa owners can offer arrival days other than Saturday and we have dedicated pages so you can find them easily in our villas ideas section on the website; Friday arrival day, Sunday arrival day and Monday arrival day. Most, however, remain Saturday arrival as that is what most people still want.
However, we hope our adapted reservation system will allow our clients to benefit from the greater flexibility on offer. Just check with us to ensure that the dates you require are available as we do need to ensure that there will be someone to meet and greet you on arrival and to supervise your departure. There is usually a minimum stay of five days in low season, in some rare instances it's three so you can take a long weekend and in high it is a week, sometimes two.
We hope both owners and our clients will benefit from this new update to our booking system.
