Hvar is a beautiful harbour town in a picturesque setting, dominated by a magnificent fort. The huge main square with its white stone paving polished by the passage of time is the focal point of the town, here the outdoor cafes and restaurants are perfect for people watching.

Up the hill, into the narrow, ancient streets you come upon lovely restaurants serving traditional dishes such as the delicious local specialty of sliced potatoes covered with fresh fish, oven baked with local herbs and olive oil. Mediaeval balconies and archways catch the eye, everything is in harmony and yet so clean and well kept. Small boutiques and cafes are to be found round every corner, its a joy to wander around as its nearly all pedestrian only.

The small harbour is very pretty and in the summer the super yachts line up in a display of pure exhibitionism. The ferry comes and goes as do the local fisherman with their catch of fresh fish. There is a gentle buzz about the place which is very pleasant indeed. Hvar attracts an upmarket clientelle and you can see why.

You can get out of town away from any cars by strolling along the coastal pathway where you can stop at random if you fancy a dip in the warm, crystal clear sea.

Hvar Travel

There is a reasonably priced, regular ferry service (hydrofoil and car ferry) running every day to Split on the mainland. We can help you organise a transfer from Split airport to your villa, via the ferry, so you don't need to hire a car except for day trips.

Hvar Weather

This is a place to come and enjoy, warm, reliable sunshine. It gets quite hot in main summer holidays but our villas are all equipped with air conditioning.

Hvar Attractions

There are lots of water based activities to be enjoyed in Hvar such as windsurfing, sailing and diving. There is a good diving centre in town where you can take lessons. Hire a car and explore the unspoilt countryside, 68km long and 11km wide there is plenty to discover on the island.
