Holiday events in Spain 2012 are starting shortly and here we feature a summary of what’s on the social calendar in Spain in 2012. Maybe you can attend one on your villa holiday in Spain.
On January 19th the northern Spanish city of San Sebastian comes alive to the sound of drums for the annual Tamborrada, undoubtedly one of the loudest festivals in Spain.
From 27th February to 20th March the streets of Valencia light up for the festival of fire which is a bit like our own bonfire night, albeit being Spain Las Fallas goes on all night long.
The Spanish FIA formula one world championship race, Formula 1 Gran Premio de Espana 2011 takes place in Catalonia at the Circuit de Catalunya, Montmelo, Barcelona 11th to 13th May.
Followed by the European Formula one grand prix in Spain, or Formula 1 grand prix de Europe, which happens in Valencia, in the Costa Blanca region of Spain 22nd to 24th June. Our accommodation in Javea is ideally located for this event.
The streets of Pampelona host the running of the bulls in July 7th to 14th accompanied by the brave and the reckless who seek high stakes thrills with occasional severe consequences.
The crazy La Tomatina is on again near Valencia in the Costa Blanca region of Spain. La Tomatina, where over one hundred tons of ripe tomatos are playfully thrown all over everyone takes place August 29ht.
Spain’s big Sherry festival, the Fiestas de Otono is on in the Spanish town of Jerez de la Frontera in September and features the heady cocktail of concerts, flamenco, sherry and bulls.
