The Citerium International Cycling race in March took place in Porto Vecchio.
Also in March Ajaccio hosted the annual marathon, which comprises both a full marathon and a half marathon as well as a 10km walk.
Corsica is strong on Jazz events and the season begins in April with the Jazz Equinoxe festival in Bastia at the Theatre Municipal.
Covering 10,000 bends the Tour de Corse rally is a true test of driving skills, it takes place in May.
More Jazz in June with the Calvi Jazz Festival. An ever popular annual event.
There are few more spectacular human feats than diving from the cliffs of Bonifacio. The world cliff diving Red Bull event takes place in June.
From end of June to mid July the Lzaret museum and the Citadel in Ajaccio host the Jazz in Ajacciu event.
Also in mid-July there is music on the beach at the Calvi on the Rocks festival.
There is a sadness and a beauty to Corsican folk music which can be enjoyed in many of the Balagne villages from 6th to 10th of July.
More Corsican folk music is t be found at the Canti di Qui festival in Vignale, this time it's the haunting Polyphonic singing.
You can enjoy the delights of melodic Corsican guitar music in the Patrimonio area in July when the Nuits de Guitar are held.
Sartene holds the International Piano and Chamber music festival each year in July.
Food is never far from evidence in Corsica and in Areno there is La Fete des Amandiers, an almond fair each year in August.
Up in the northern tip of the Cap Corse there is the Erbalunga Music Festival in August on the 8th to 10th.
In mid August there are celebrations, including parades in costumes and fireworks each year in honour of Napoleon Bonaparte the islands most important historical figure.
You can catch folk singing Polyphonic style at the Calvi Polyphonic festival in September.
One of the World's longest windsurfing events takes place over the 17km between Corisca and the Italian island of Sardinia in September. Watch the Defi Inter-Iles from the cliffs of Bonifacio 13th to 15th.
In wide range of musical styles are on offer at the Musicales de Bastia in mid October.
Corsica is one of the best places anywhere for walking and the islanders are out in force for the Balanina 17km annual hike.
And finally it's back to food with the Fiera dia Castagna (Chestnut festival) in December in Bocagnano.
