The Carnival of Corfu takes place mainly in Corfu old town and Liston.
Each year in May there is the Anniversary of the Union, when Corfu became part of the Greek state.
On 11 August Corfu town celebrates the Feast of Agios Spyridon.
Also in August the charming Varkorola is feted from boats with singers and fireworks.
The Cricket Festival is a rather incongruous but popular part of Corfu heritage held in Corfu town.
Equally popular is the Light and Sound show which lights up the evening sky over Corfu town.
The Cultural Festival takes place in Ano Korakiana village throughout the month of August.
On the 15 August in Kato Garouna and Ano Gerakiana there are village festivals.
In September there is the Festival of Corfu which encompasses most of the performing arts including classical concerts, theatre and coral renditions.
