Situated on the edge of a small village this villa offers the very latest standards of luxury, it was completed in 2017. It has a heated swimming pool with retractable safety cover as well as a Jacuzzi and fitness area. From the upstairs bedrooms, you can admire the pool, palm trees and lawns beyond via the highly innovative reinforced glass balcony. You can walk 1 km to the village along a flat quiet lane and buy fresh bread, basic provisions and have a drink at the local bar. There is a wide range of restaurants and shops in nearby Grignan 4 km where you will also find the chateau of the Marquise de Sévignac which can be visited and holds cultural events in summer.
Villa accommodation on two floors covering 440 m², for 12 people, 6 bedrooms, 7 en suite shower room, satellite television, wifi, fitness area, reversible floor heating (hot/cold).
Ground floor
The entrance door leads into the vast living and dining area with the open-plan kitchen, all of which opens via three sets of patio doors to the pool area and adjoining outdoor dining area. Very thoughtfully laid out, at one end there is a fabulous modern kitchen with a huge work service and all the latest modern appliances (American fridge/freezer, induction hob, oven, two coffee machines, microwave, dishwasher etc.) and a breakfast bar with stools. Then there is a very cool, large dining table for twelve people followed by a saloon area with bar (you can provide your own drinks or use the house tab system for access to high-quality whiskey, wine etc.). At the end of the room is a sumptuous, very comfortable sitting area with a large screen, wall mounted television.
A sliding door leads to the west wing sleeping area which has a handy guest toilet. There are three good sized double bedrooms (180 cm wide beds in each), all with en suite shower rooms with twin sinks, toilet and all of the bedrooms open directly to the pool area, so you can literally slip out of bed and go straight for a dip.
Upper floor
Open stairs (not suitable for small children) lead up the first-floor landing which gives access to the bedrooms. The master double bedroom which is very spacious and has a large picture window which offers views of the beautiful countryside with the Mont Ventoux in the distance, there is a double bed (180 cm wide) and a spacious en suite shower room with twin sinks, toilet. The bedroom opens via patio doors which retract into the wall to an amazing glass floored balcony with seats overlooking the pool area, it allows you to appreciate the beautiful pool area and garden fully from the bedroom itself, as well as the fortified tower of the village beyond which is lit in the evenings. There are two more, good sized double bedrooms (180 cm wide beds in each), both with large en suite shower rooms with twin sinks, toilet and these bedrooms also have access to the glass balcony with views of the pool and garden.
There are hair dryers in all the shower rooms and all the bedrooms have televisions. Three baby cots and three high chairs for babies.
Electric gates allow access to the parking area at the rear of the villa, the 2200 m² garden is surrounded by a high wall providing complete seclusion. The east wing has a superb, sheltered, outdoor covered dining area which overlooks the pool and is easily accessed from the kitchen, it has a very clever remote controlled roof which you can adjust to allow light in as you wish and it has built in atmospheric lighting for the evening. Next to it is a shower room and toilet followed by the Jacuzzi area which has a wood floor surrounding the heated hot tub, overlooking the pool. Beyond that, divided by clever hanging logs is the fitness area which has high-quality equipment which is brand new comprising an exercise bike, step machine and running mill, where you can keep in shape overlooking the pool area.
The seven-metre long pool is heated and has a very nice deck leading up to it from the house, which continues in the form of the steps into the water. An electric cover allows you to close it. Beyond the pool at the end of the garden is a lawn area and small mature trees which offer natural shade. In front of the house is a rather cool sitting area with mature palm trees and parasols. All this is a peaceful, secluded haven where you can relax, unwind and enjoy the latest sophisticated, modern holiday lifestyle.
There is a whole range of supplementary services available including a cook, cleaner, massage, delivery of hire bicycles to the house (electric ones available too). The local markets in the surrounding villages offer high quality, locally grown fruits and vegetables, much of it organic. Beyond the pretty villages there are interesting places to visit nearby such a Vaison la Romaine and Fontaine de Vaucluse, you can even enjoy a night at the opera (world class) in the Roman amphitheatre in Orange (though you need to book very early) even head over to the Ardeche to canoe the river or see the cave paintings in the amazing Pont d'Arc Cavern. Children enjoy visiting the local crocodile park and the numerous high rope parks. Adults like to visit and taste in the many wine domains and chateaux nearby.
Village 1 km for basic grocery shop and bar. Grignan 4 km. Montelimar (famous for its nougat) TGV train station 30 km. Marseille airport 139 km.
Villas du Monde verdict: you won't find a better villa than this for a modern style holiday with friends or family.
