Argentière chalets

Argentiere chalets ranging from a chalet for 8 people up to a luxury chalet for 12. Argentiere is a famous ski village located near the top of the Chamonix valley. Renowned for its awesome off piste skiing and wonderful party scene, it is rated by many (usually rather good skiers) as the best ski resort in the world.

The Chamonix valley is very steep and the mountains very high though the resort height a modest 1035m, Argentiere lies at the foot of the Grands Montets glacier. The weather on the slopes is generally good as the valley gets an ample share of sunshine. Being on the slopes of Mont Blanc there is a micro climate and you can always find somewhere suitable to ski in the valley whatever the conditions.

Argentiere is located about one hour and ten minutes drive from Geneva, which has direct flights from Leeds Bradford, Birmingham, Luton, Gatwick, Manchester, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Stanstead, Bristol, Glasgow, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Belfast, Southampton, Exeter, Isle of Man and London City with either Easyjet, Jet2, British Airways, bmibaby, Baboo or flythomascook.

As a resort Argentiere is really geared to intermediate to expert skiers. we would say if you feel comfortable on your skis and you like to go for it a bit then Argentiere is for you, in fact, you shouldn’t miss going there, it's more than just the skiing, it’s the scenery and the people you find there as well.

There is a small choice of sports shops, boutiques, food stores, bars and restaurants in Argentiere itself. Just down the road, Chamonix (6km) has it all and more! Argentiere is not about glitz, it’s about mountain people, although it still caters for the family and has restaurants for all budgets.

The high altitude glacier skiing, with the highest lift at 3842m, means there is good skiing right from the start of the ski season. The vertical drop is a whopping 3842m and the Valley Blanche run down the glacier is something else. You have 155km of ski runs to go at but you do have to get the bus to get around to each of the six major areas which are Le Brevent, La Flegere (the latter are linked together), Grand Montets, L’Aguille du Midi (off piste only – guide essential), Le Tour and Les Houches (the latter is actually very good for beginners and low intermediates). All this is available on the Chamonix Mont Blanc ski pass.

There are lots going on in the valley, such as snow shoeing and cross country skiing and if you fancy a paragliding jump to remember this is one of the most amazing places on earth to do it.

The high altitude runs are awesome and you to will certainly get a thrill out of skiing in Argentiere.
