January saw the annual Tamborrada event in San Sebastian where local drummers raise the roof during one of the noisiest Spanish festivals.
In February and March the Las Fallas festival lit up the night sky of Valencia down in the Costa Blanca region.
The independent minded region of Catalonia hosts the Spain formula one grand prix.
The Spanish FIA formula one world championship race, Formula 1 Gran Premio de Espana 2013 takes place in Catalonia at the Circuit de Catalunya, Montmelo, Barcelona in May.
The formula one races continue in Spain in June in the Costa Blanca capital of Valencia which hosts the grand prix de Europe. We have plenty of available villas in nearby Javea which are suitable for this event.
The rather frightening yet intoxicating running of the bulls takes place in Pamplona at the beginning of July.
The La Tomatina takes place once again near Valencia. There are crazy events and crazy events but this one certainly takes the biscuit. A food fight on a grand scale using tomatoes is basically what it is. This years date is August 28.
