Brad Pitt has apparently got closer to putting together a program to restore the chateau Miraval, to the great delight of the municipality of Correns.
Correns is a small village in the heart of what is locally known as Le Provence verte, a region, which is a part of Cote d'Azur in the south of France. Brad and Angelina get to spend time discretely in the area, they recently came to the village to eat at the restaurant L'Auberge du Parc, arriving in a big 4 x 4 with opaque windows, restaurant staff were asked in advance to turn off all mobile phones, so there would be no photographs of the visit.
The 17th century chateau Miravel is set among 300 hectares of peaceful grounds and the local mayor says it will be a problem for them to be given a restoration permit as long as the restoration follows the guidelines given. The pair have a long-term love affair with the south of France and they bought the chateau from industrialist Tom Bove. According to the Nice Matin newspaper the village of Correns is preparing a feast in celebration of the famous pair.
Most visitors to Correns are there to enjoy the fantastic nature and countryside which the area offers. Locals seem largely indifferent to the presence of the star of the latest hit Inglorious Basterds which opened recently in cinemas all over the world. "Bof C'est une gars comme une autre" was one of the good quotes from a local, carried in Nice Matin yesterday, which means with he is just a guy like any other
The Côte d'Azur attracts many stars, but in general visitors are drawn to the area for the same reasons as the likes of Brad, it is one of the most beautiful places on the earth with a unique combination of mountains, sea and culture.
