There are a small number of destinations where the change-over day is a Sunday. This has traditionally been dictated by the availability of flights, Corsica being a prime example as there have only been Sunday flights from the UK for many years.
The upside of arriving and departing on a Sunday is that generally speaking traffic is a whole lot easier both driving to the departure airport and to the villa when you touch down. In the past one of the difficulties was shopping but nowadays there are sufficient shops open on Sunday for a days provisions at least. Furthermore the owners are often happy to help out and will buy in basics on request.
So if you are looking to go to France, Spain or Greece don't be put off by a Sunday departure, its actually a good thing.
