Ansouis is 22 km north of Aix-en-Provence, by the D556 to Pertuis, then the D56. Sheltered from the mistral, the village offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside and beautiful medieaval streets with shops, cafes, restaurants and artisans. There is a small grocers and boulangerie for the essentials.

Medieval castle, 12^th century, with gardens and terraces open on some days for visitors. Inside there is a fine collection of furniture and tapestries.

Hiking, mountain biking. Religious festival in July, concerts, theatre, exhibitions. Wine production area with some good chateaux where you can taste and purchase wine, especially good rosé.

Ansouis travel

Traveling to Ansouis is great for self drive holiday makers as there is motorway access nearly all the way. For fly drive there are direct international flights to Marseilles airport (MRS) 56km (about 53 minutes by car).

Ansouis weather

The climate in Ansouis is superb for villa with pool holidays from May to September as there is plenty of warm sunshine and little rain during this period. Temperatures can rise quite high in the main school holiday periods of July and August, but the houses are perfectly adapted and the children love cooling off in the pool.
