Porto Vecchio is a favourite of many of the regular visitors to Corsica and its easy to see why, the hilltop town has lovely boutiques and a charming square surrounded by open air cafes as well as a super marina down at the coast. The beaches in the area are fabulous, gently sloping, soft white sand and crystal clear warm waters are the norm, great examples are at Palombaggia, Pinarello, Santa Gulia and Cala Rossa.

Water sports enthusiasts enjoy access to sailing, windsufing and jet ski hire and for the less sporty there are delightful boat trips from the marina. Scuba diving and snorkling are also very popular around Porto Vecchio.

Some of the best beaches on the island are located around Porto Vechio and there is easy access up to the mountains, in particular the dramatic Bavella summits.

The nearest airport is at Figari which is a comfortable half hours drive from Porto Vecchio. However Bastia airport is also a good option as it is only two hours drive to the north, up the coast road which is easy driving as there are few winding sections.
