Silver Coast surfers will be gathering to compete in the Moche Rip curl pro competition in the Portuguese resort of Peniche from the 9th to the 20th of October 2013.
With big prize money at stake, $450,000 to be precise, you can be sure that this major event will be attracting the cream of surfing talent and plenty of support.
Peniche is situated 100km to the north of Lisbon on the Atlantic coast of Portugal and it is here that you can see the second to last stage of the ASP World Championship. The peninsula is regarded as Europe's best and most consistent surf location so there will be no shortage of action.
Here the swells produce tubular waves which are perfectly formed, indeed supertubos is reputed as one of the world's best waves by Surfer magazine. Enjoy the great surfing, the beachside ambiance and the food in Portugal, one of the top surf destinations in the World.
Or if you are just wanting to learn or enjoy brushing up on your turns you might just like to try a holiday in the Silver Coast and what could be better than a villa with your own pool for unwinding in between tackling the waves.
This event was repeated around a similar period in 2014 and is expected to be run again in October 2015.
