Description
Beautiful, substantial, air conditioned villa with private pool and lovely, secluded garden. Set amidst orange groves, right on the edge of the village of Melidoni 300m, near the larger village of Perama 3km and the beach at Bali 5km, in the Milopotamo region on the northern Cretan sea coast. Heraklion airport 50km. Rethymon 28km. There are wonderful views of the Psiloretes mountains which are the highest in the region.
The upper floor, accessed by an impressive flight of stairs, has a large gallery sitting room which may be used as an extra living room or an extra bedroom utilising its double sofa bed (160cm wide) and has access to a large balcony overlooking the pool and countryside both to the rear and front of the villa. Double bedroom (1 x 140cm wide bed) with access to small balcony and an en suite bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. Twin bedroom (2 x 90cm wide beds). Shower room with toilet.
The ground floor has a large L-shaped living room with a fireplace, a large open-plan, fully equipped kitchen (accessed via two steps) which opens directly onto the vegetable garden. Two steps to double bedroom (1 x 160cm wide bed) opening onto a garden terrace overlooking the pool and with en suite bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. Twin bedroom (2 x 90cm wide beds) opening to a rear garden terrace and with en suite shower room with toilet. Laundry room with washing machine.
The interior has elegant furniture, sophisticated decor and antiques. It seems incredible that this villas was built in 2001 as it seems so substantial and classical in style that it could be many years older although the benefit is that everything is in perect order.
The swimming pool, set in the front of the house, has a children’s paddling pool (0.5m deep) which flows into it giving a soothing trickling effect, and is surrounded by a vast garden with a large patio and lush lawn. Garden furniture under the pergola invites you to enjoy a drink and the natural huge stone table by the barbecue area is ideal for a summer meal. The garden is peaceful and screened by trees and walls. A particularly nice feature is that the village restaurant will deliver meals to the villa as required.
The prices include
The rental of a catagory A car (4 person, Seicento type), for one week (tax and insurance included, unlimited milage) pick up from the airport. Property made available in good order and fully equipped. Local taxes (unless specified otherwise in the villa description), reasonable consumption of services including water, gas and electricity. Linen and towels provided (not including beach towels), change of linen once a week. Garden and swimming pool maintenance.
The prices don’t include
Refundable cash deposit €470 payable locally. Heating for the house and fire wood. Air conditioning use is payable locally. Additional services (where available) including cleaning, babysitting and cooking. |

Change-over for Crete can also be a Tuesday. Check the two weeks are available from the Saturday nearest the Tuesday of your depart, you only pay for one week.
