Oceanarium in Lisbon is one of the worlds biggest aquariums and one of the principal attractions in Portugal.
Set by the river in the Parque das Nacoes which was the site of the Expo 1998, the architecture of the building, which is accessed by a bridge, is quite spectacular in itself.
It is the ingenious design of the aquariums which make the Oceanario di Lisboa so special, allowing the viewing of as many as 25,000 fish, mammels and birds in different ocean ecosystems. There are modern interactive displays and lots of educational explanations.
