It is no coincidence that Normandy has been home to many great artists, writers (Corneille, Flaubert, Maupassant ...), painters (Boudin, Monet, Dufy, Leger ...) or musicians (Brossard, Saint-Saens, Honneger ...)! They were inspired by this charming region, the varied landscape. Its coastline is stunning cliffs and sandy beaches, its countryside of green plains and groves, forests and valleys.  

Forged by the Vikings, shaped by Christian art, romance and Gothic, Renaissance renewed its architectural heritage. Abbeys, cathedrals and smaller churches, bright windows, Normandy is a land of sacred art. Sporting activities are numerous: water sports (catamaran, sailing, windsurfing, surfing ...), fishing at sea or river, hiking or riding. 

For enthusiasts, Normandy is the chosen land of the pure-blood and proud, host to many stud farms, including two national (the stud of Pine and Saint-Lô). International equestrian competitions and horse racing punctuate the summer. 

Finally Normandy is also about eating and drinking well: cheese, butter, milk, cream, fish and shellfish, poultry, vegetables, cider, calvados ...
