Andalusia lies in the south of Spain on the shores of both the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. A region of great contrast, there are dramatic oft snow capped mountain ranges and flat plains baking in the sun.

There is much to do and see in the area, however few sights can compare with the Alhambra in Granada, a palace with fabulous gardens, built by the moors, dominating the town and overlooking the majestic Sierra Nevada in the distance where el Mulhacen rises to 3,481 metres.

Malaga has an international airport, Nerja and Marbella are very popular resorts and further west, past the straights of Gibraltar, lies Cadiz. Inland from Cadiz is the lively town of Sevilla.

Lying so close to Africa it is not surprising that the climate here is lovely and warm, indeed the Andalucia weather renders the coastal areas suitable for holidays practically all year round. Its not known as the sun coast or “Costa del Sol” for nothing.

There are excellent facilities for watersports with lots of jet ski hire along with sailing and windsurfing. Beaches tend to be grey with coarse grained sand and there is an abundance of restaurants, outdoor cafes and boutiques.
