Landlocked Umbria nestles between Tuscany, Lazio and Le Marche and whilst it has plenty to offer in its own right it is very easy visit its neighbouring regions. There are a number of fascinating cities in Umbria of which Orvieto, Perugia, Todi and Assisi are the best known.

Italy has long been popular with tourists and it is increasingly difficult to avoid the crowds particularly in the height of summer but you can still enjoy considerable tranquillity in Umbria, particularly in the sleepy villages.
