The Midi-Pyrenees is a warm, tranquil region with many hidden gems set amidst dramatic scenery, including the limestone gorges of the Lot and the snow capped splendours of the Pyrenees. Historic towns such as Cohors, Albi, Montauban and Toulouse are a joy to discover.

This is the land of the famous Cassoullet, which never tastes as good anywhere else and what could be a better compliment than a fine Cahors claret. Foie gras and duck are also local delicacies and once you’ve tasted a good “magret de canard” it’s easy to get hooked.    

There are a number of pilgrimage spots in the area which served those making the long trek down to Saint Jean de Compostelle, Rocamadour is perhaps the most dramatic, even more so when the eagles are flying over the limestone valley and Toulouse is the most sophisticated, it’s a beautiful red brick city with fascinating tourist visits and great shops. The weather in the Midi-Pyrenees tends to be quite warm with only a little rainfall so you can anticipate using the pool at your villa a good deal. However the further you go into the Pyrenees the more the chance of rain. There is a good deal to do with lots of lovely walks, excellent cycling and a whole range of exiting activities including canyoning.
