The carnival in Alicante is the major event in February. Held annually the principal parade is on Sabado Ramblero.
In March the spectacular Las Fallas festival takes place each year in Valencia. Bonfires and effigies are the theme.
The coastal city of Valencia hosts the annual Formula 1 event, the Grand Prix de Europe in June.
Also in June you can enjoy the medieval market in the old quarter of Alicante each year.
Spain continues a long tradition of sports involving bulls and in July the annual bull run takes place on the harbour front of Denia.
A reminder that the area was once an occupied territory takes place in July in Javea with the annual Festival of the Moors and Christians.
The Musicas del Mondo Summer Festival runs each year during July and August in Alicante. You can watch international musicians perform at this event.
Food is another important theme in Spain and the annual Tapas tasting held in September in Javea is accompanied by live music.
