Pontenx les Forges Travel

There is good road access to Pontenx les Forges via the A63 motorway from Bordeaux. If driving down from the channel ports it is advisable to take an overnight hotel stop. Bordeaux international airport at Merignac is 106km (around 1hr 20mins) to the north and Biarritz Parme airport, Anglet is 122km (around 1hr 35mins) to the south. If you opt to fly you should consider early pre-booking of airport parking as you can make worthwhile savings.

The weather is generally warm and sunny in Pontenx les Forges from early May to end of September. Occasionally there is some rain which comes over from the Atlantic but not too often.

The famous city of Bordeaux is within easy striking distance for a days shopping or exploring of museums, you may fancy eating out whilst there as Bordeaux has some of the best restaurants in France. The famous wine areas of the Medoc are also an option as are the beautiful Pyrenees mountains.
