There are three separate harbour areas in Douarnenez which remains a major fishing port and it is the Port de Rosmeur which is the most appealing with its various cafes and restaurants. The Musee du Bateau is also located here. The beaches are big and wide and favoured by surfers.

The nearest ferry port is Roscoff 104km, followed by Saint Malo 230km, Cherbourg 470km and finally the channel tunnel and short sea crossing at Calais 760km. You can fly direct to Brest (BES) 75km (about 1 hour and 7 minutes by car) and Dinard (DNR) 215km (around 2 hours and 57 minutes car journey).
