Bordeaux is a beautiful, historic city with many fine buildings and a rich heritage. It is well worth a visit if only for the excellent shopping and superb restaurants. The main shopping area centres on the pedestrianized rue St Catherine which has a wonderful atmosphere and contains numerous individual shops of interest.
