Colombier beach is a St Barts treasure, located way out on the far west of this Caribbean paradise.
You could almost say that the plage du petit Colombier as the French speakers call it is a secret even hidden beach which is mainly due to its difficult access. Part of the St Barts Natural Marine Reserve area it is a haven of tranquility.
There are two ways of getting to Colombier beach, the easiest and most popular is by boat and you can get a ride there on a catamaran from Gustavia harbour. Alternatively you can undertake the trek along the coastal path which takes nearly half an hour from Petite-Anse on the Flamands road, alternatively from the view point overlooking Colombier.
Colombier beach is an excellent place to enjoy some snorkeling as there are more fish around this beach than any other on the island. You do need to remember that it is a reserve and so you mustn’t disturb or take anything.
There is just one house near Colombier plage, which was once the property of a Mr Rockerfeller who was in many ways responsible for putting St Barts on the visitors map.
We have a fine selection of villas in Gustavia so if you are planning a holiday in St Barts we can offer you the perfect base from which to explore the islands treasures such as Colombier beach. Or yo might try one of our wide selection of French Caribbean holiday villas.
