The climate in the Aquitaine Pyrenees Atlantique area is variable as it is often lovely and warm and sunny but due to the proximity of the mountains and the Atlantic Ocean you do get some rain which is why the area is so lovely and green. It's a good area for holidays between May and September.

Inland there are numerous fabulous, historic and character villages including Ascain and St Jean Pied de Port from where you can enjoy wonderful walks in the verdant mountains.
